Dorie's Doodles 〰️

Hey there! I'm Dorie Timan, and I'm all about spreading the creative vibes! I'm not just your average Visual Arts Teacher, I'm also an Artist with a capital A! I've got my diploma in Graphics Arts from the awesome Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis. Originally, I thought I'd be all about animation, but guess what? I ended up head over heels for illustration!

These days, you can find me bringing art to life at the Herron Classical School System, but that's not all. I've got my artistic adventures on the side! I love diving into local art events and conventions, where I get to meet fellow art enthusiasts and share my passion.

Honestly, I'm into all types of art, and I'm always up for trying out new styles. So if you ever want to chat about art, swap creative ideas, or just have a good ol' chinwag, I'm your go-to Person!

During my college journey, I had the fantastic opportunity to dive headfirst into the arts scene. For two glorious summers, I teamed up with my Professor and mentor, the one and only Dan Baldwin, on a super secret animation project (shhh, it's still hush-hush!). We delved into pre-production magic, working on storyboards, concept sketches, and even covering walls with sticky notes – it was a whirlwind of creativity! Dan's leadership and unwavering support brought out the best in all of us.

In another awesome summer adventure, I became an illustration intern for the incredible company Study Breaks. I poured my heart into creating illustrations for their weekly articles. The wide range of captivating topics pushed me to sharpen my artistic skills, ensuring I delivered top-notch work every time.

But college wasn't just about gaining experience; it was also about forging lifelong friendships and making connections that are worth their weight in gold. During my time at IUPUI, I had the privilege of meeting and collaborating with some truly amazing individuals. Special shout-out to my friend Trevor Badgero, who was a rock-solid support throughout. Whether it was tackling group projects or teaching abroad in Poland, I couldn't have asked for a better crew to graduate alongside.

Beyond the classroom, I've been busy with commission work galore! I've created art for PNgtubers and YouTube channels, dabbled in graphic design, and even designed a tattoo or two! I'm one of those people who figures out a way to bring your creative vision to life, even if it's not my usual specialty. So, if you've got an artistic dream, I'm here to help make it a reality!

When I'm not at my incredible school, you can find me at awesome conventions like Indianapolis Pop Con! These events are my secret sauce for inspiration and connecting with fellow incredible artists who share the same passion. Plus, they're the perfect spot to meet all you lovely folks! Your continued support year after year warms my heart more than words can say. My dream is to see my art flying off the shelves every year! I hope each piece you take home brings you joy because they're all like little pieces of my heart!
