Hello! My name is Dorothy Timan, but please just call me Dorie. I am a recent grad from IUPUI (Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis). I graduated from the Computer Graphics Technology program.

Early on in the 5th grade I discovered manga and anime. It was then I knew I wanted to be an artist. Each day I would slave over lined pieces of paper, attempting to make my scribbles look like Arina Tanemura's beautiful illustrations. It was soon I discovered that I had my own style. I embraced it like a long lost friend. Art classes were a luxury for me. I did not take a formal art class until I was a freshman in college. I did however spend four years in the CGT program in my high school. I was making mugs, mouse pads, stationary, and even my graduation pamphlet. In Design and Printing presses were my life. But I still found the time between busy a schedule and tons of out of school activities to draw. Drawing and art are my life-blood. I am still improving, I still have a long way to go. Every day is a new adventure and a new skill learned when it comes to art.

A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one

This is where my art begins. My inspirations and my pin collection are always by my side.  My silly little figurines liter the space encouraging me to work harder. Yes, it is ordered chaos, but I can always find what I need. I've got paint, I've got pencils, I've got markers, I even have pastels! Most of my art supplies has been given to me by important people in my life. I cherish each and every one.   I use each marker to the last drop. I am always hesitant  to toss something out because I could always repurpose it later. I tend to use whatever gets the job done. My art tends to be an amalgamate of mediums. I finding restricting yourself to one medium is cutting your potential and limiting the different mediums you could use.  Most of my art is physical since I do not have a Cintiq or a tablet yet, but it is something I am saving up for. I cannot wait to delve into the world of digital art. I do have some experience from in class work, but I want to jump right and begin discovering.
